As the fashion industry is becoming more and more technological, we have been working for some time with materials with innovative features. Among the new patents is an anti-bacterial, Q-Skin yarn from Amni Virus Bac Off, which represents a protection against the risks of contamination.

Patented Q-Skin technology

With this patent, garments and accessories in warp knit (seamless) with this new polyamide yarn that has an antiviral and antibacterial agent incorporated and permanent (so beyond washing) in its polymer matrix. A first sports collection has been launched, leggings, bras, croptop, baselayer.

According to qualified studies, viruses can survive up to at least two days on textile surfaces. The electronic affinity with the proteins present in the external structure of the virus makes this agent prevent fabrics from becoming a host surface for viruses and bacteria, thus helping to reduce the risk of contamination.

Laboratory tested Q-skin technology

The antiviral properties of the yarn have been tested by an independent laboratory, following the international textile protocols contained in ISO 18184 (standard for the determination of antiviral activity of textile products). The technology of this new yarn ensures that the antiviral and antibacterial agent does not migrate onto the skin or into the environment.

Unlike garments treated with dye finishes that have limited functionality and lose their function in the wash, the antiviral and antibacterial properties of Q-Skin polyamide are in fact permanent and translate into garment benefits that remain unchanged over time, confirming the durability of the process.
